New to the Riverside Center Children's Theatre, a unique combination of storytelling, comedy, music, masks and magic with puppets!

Presenting classic tales that everyone will love, beginning with a one-time performance of The Velveteen Rabbit on Saturday, November 22, 2025.

All tickets $25 (+$3 online fee) Under 3 years free with paying adult

Bring a lunch to enjoy before the show!

The Velveteen Rabbit, filled with gentle humor and warmth, is Margery Williams’ classic tale of a toy rabbit that dreams of becoming real. Told with hand puppets, storytelling, and song by a solo puppeteer, the story highlights friendship, changes, magic, and what it means to love and be loved. A popular show for the young and young at heart, it is of particular interest to children and their parents, youngsters learning to read, and anyone who has ever had a favorite stuffed toy. Designated a “Helen Hayes Awards Recommended” production.

Great for K-5 and families. Please have the kids bring their favorite toy or stuffed animal with them to watch.

Puppeteer Christopher Hudert is an employee of Riverside and cofounder of Applause Unlimited. He has a Theatre Education from VCU and attended Ringling Brothers Clown College. He traveled with the circus for nine years. We are thrilled to have him on our team.
